Yeah Hyrule field is better than the sky but it's still better than the ocean in Wind Waker. Also you don't have the Master Sword yet, you have the Goddess Sword.
it seems like you took an arrow to the knee
you should get mods for the game and install them...

i actually liked the ocean in windwaker. kind of tedious to get around, but having all those little islands to explore was fun to me. it was cool going around and slowly filling up your map, exploring all of them along the way. the sky just seems so empty. just a couple somewhat worthwhile places, and everything else is just nothing or rocks randomly floating in the sky.

skyward sword, so far at least, has to be one of the worst zelda games i've played. i still like it okay, but they could have made it so much better.

I had hoped that they would have several sky islands to visit. Maybe give Link's Skyloft knights order a rival on one of those islands too.More gruff than the skyloft knights, and not ashamed to do dirty or underhanded tasks.

Y'know, have him actually COMPETE against someone else trying to save the Zelda?

Even if these rivals fall short mid way, they could (begrudgingly) entrust Link with the responsibility to finish the task that they both set out to accomplish.

It would still serve Nintendo's moral compass well, by teaching that rivalry should be friendly not violent, or negative. After all, there's usually an underlying message to be had in a Zelda game.

well your rare, cause the game was game of the year quality and better then previous (course oot and mm are right next to it)

No offense vii but that is kinda bad, In the sense that maybe you should stick with the other zeldas if you really have a beef with skyward sword.

im not even a fanboy and see alot wrong(compared to other peoples opinion and game reviews) with what your saying.Yet of course it is your opinion so you can say what you want.

so... i guess it's an okay game, but i was really expecting this to be a
great game and as much fun as the other zeldas i've played. it just
seems to be missing so much. *now considers buying windwaker later on
and giggling and link's uber cuteness, i never did get 100% on that
game*

Its not an okay game and really it seems you play to much other games to really appreciate Skyward sword. The games are not all suppose to be the same ,and i think its one hell of a game. Its not missing and its kinda sad you cant see how good it is and instead nit pick at a game.

Trust me i know some fanboys who would have a lot more to say on the game and your comments/opinion that would be bad >>

P.S im not trying to offend,or insult you. I just am surprised at your rash comments and attacks on a good game. We are all entitled to opinions.I played it and beat and would say its 9/10.You can delete this if it sounds to harsh

it's not offensive, nate. i know that lots of people really like this game, and it does have a lot of good things about it. but it just doesn't seem to throw you into the adventure like a lot of other zelda games did. maybe that's just me, but my crazy exploration desire is going way unfulfilled with this game. i always liked how zelda games seemed to have so many places you could go, a million side quests to choose from at a time, great characters and story... and it seems to be mostly missing in skyward sword.

in this one, there's only a couple side quests you can do, they don't let you even try to go into other areas until you've beaten whichever one you're on. i just feel like there's so little to explore, there are no other towns or villages anywhere. after you've spent 15 minutes messing around in skyloft, that's about it.

i do still like it, and maybe i'm just crazy, but it doesn't feel like a real zelda game to me. it just doesn't give you that sense of excitement that you get to go and explore this huge, vast fantasy world. the harder puzzle solving aspect of it is great, but it looks like they made the puzzles better and harder in exchange for taking away the exploration.

meh, maybe i've just finally lost it... but i just can't get into it nearly as much as i always could with other zelda games. XD

Actually vii, your comments are very valid, however for a rather unusual reason. Shiguru Miyamoto, the creator of the series, did not produce, or direct this Zelda title. In fact, he had nothing to do with it at all, other than watching from afar, and offering a few tips here and there.

He decided to let a new, younger creator take the reigns this time, and was also heard by many employees saying that he won't be around forever to make this or any of his game series, as he walked around the office area.

Many believed that he had planned to quit Nintendo over all, and resign from the industry, however it appears that was not the case.
Nintendo repeatedly said that there was absolutely no statement regarding Miyamoto leaving Nintendo or the Zelda project's team.

In my opinion, he is trying to instill that "spark" unto other developers, That one piece of magic that makes a Zelda game a Zelda game, with the hope that his series will continue the way he intended it, long after he is gone.
Suffice it to say, that means he WANTS more people to try new things, but he wants them to be able to stay true to what a Zelda title actually is at the same time.

So yes, the reason the game feels different, is because it IS different. Its a project from the mind of another person altogether, thus the different gameplay styles, the new approach to exploration, and the new symphonic soundtrack.

Interesting to know isn't it?

oh. that would explain it. XD

i hope that with miyamoto gone, the zelda games in the future have that sense of adventure... it would suck if they stop doing it or were unable to bring it back.

at the risk of sounding nerdy, zelda is what got me into rpg's and video games in general in the first place. i would come home from school every day and play ocarina of time for hours, even if it was just running around and doing dumb stuff and not getting anything done on the game. it felt like there was so much to see and do in that game, and such a big world to go exploring in. majora's mask, windwaker, twilight princess, and even some of the gameboy games had that spark, but it's missing in skyward sword.

the game does have lots of good about it. the puzzles are more challenging than ever before, even just getting around from place to place takes some serious thought, the beginning was good and touching/funny, it has bright and sort of cartoony graphics which are perfect for a zelda game, interesting dungeons.... but it lacks that adventure spark, and that's what i don't like about it.

*hopes i'm not starting to just say the same damn thing over and over again* XD

maybe that's why you don't see what i'm trying to say. what other zelda games have you played? how much do you like rpg's? puzzles are good and all, but one of the real thrills of an rpg is exploring the game world, and that's where ss drops the ball.

lolz he IS absolutely right.... XD haha zan

even if some people didn't like certain aspects of windwaker and twilight princess, they are freaking rpg masterpieces. and he doesn't look all that old, i demand to know why he isn't making zelda games until he drops. XD

YOU FOOLS IF YOU HAD LOVED CUTE WINDWAKER LINK'S CUTENESS, THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!

He did contribute to the game actually.

and not they thought he was going step down, not quit nintendo

Long after he is gone? he isnt old yet and still going to be a big part for another decade in my opinion.

games."

No offense vii but your to focused on this idea of what Zelda has to be, its just a new and fun idea. Stop trying to compare and say what it doesn't have ,rather what it is and how it is really great game.

Hey. She's entitled to her opinion like you and I are to ours. Besides, she's not berating the game overall. She did say it was fun, and that her most major complaint was the restrictive land of skyloft right? Well, that is actually an issue, since a Zelda title is an action/adventure game. xD

Besides, she's not the only one with that opinion.

On the topic of Miyamoto, if you were an artist (which he is) wouldn't you want to make sure your work would be carried on the way you would want it to be??

Besides, here's a critic who said the same thing.
